If you haven't had a chance to see the pilot in full yet, there is a somewhat familiar character in it - a scientist named Lloyd Simcoe - who shows up towards the end. The creators have said that (assuming the show survives), they'll reach the flashforward point before season's end, so I can only assume that like the book, the time where there's a flashforward will be occupied with another flashforward. As long as it doesn't end up like Hiro's annual visions of future doom, it should be okay. I hope the show lasts long enough to exploit the premise fully.
